Jaipur, also known as the Pink City, is home to the famous Jantar Mantar observatory, the Rambagh Palace hotel, the City Palace and the Hawa Mahal (Hall of Winds). The private apartments at the City Palace contain exquisite rooms with extensive views over the city. There are courtyards and gateways large enough for the maharaja’s elephants and beautiful architecture - both old and surprisingly modern, with the new Baradari restaurant. Just outside the city are the equally recognisable Jal Mahal (Water Palace) and the majestic Amer Fort. Jaigarh Fort towers over Amer, with private gardens and truly spectacular vistas out over the Araveli Hills.
