About an hour from Jaipur, is a deserted village. Said to be the most haunted place in India, we usually have the site to ourselves! The palace towers over the village and the temple to Shiva has exquisite stone carvings. There are some beautiful banyan trees and monkeys galore. Step wells are most often found across Rajasthan and Gujarat. Each one offers extraordinary architecture, with mind blowing symmetry and patterns. Our favourites in Rajasthan are at Amer, behind the fort; Alwar, about 2 hours from Jaipur and at Neemrana, between Delhi and Jaipur.
