The Blue City, is on the edge of the Great Thar Desert. With sand dunes and desert villages within easy reach. It is best known for the Mehrangarh Fort which contains the maharaja’s palace. In 1943 the maharaja’s family moved to the Umaid Bhawan Palacewhich is certainly a little more comfortable. It is also a luxury hotel and a stunning shoot location. There is no shortage of great accommodation in Jodhpur. We particularly like Raaswhich blends traditional and modern design and has some of the best views in the city. Jodhpur is a short flight from either Delhi or Mumbai.
